Gulf Aid Concerts?

Ok, a friend of mine pointed out something very insightful tonight on Facebook. Our country is so quick to throw benefit concerts, and such during Foreign Disasters (i.e. We Are The World, Comic Relief, Live Aid, etc.). Where are all the benefit concerts for the Gulf Oil Spill? The environment, and therefore the people in the Gulf States are hurting because of this spill. What are the celebrities waiting for? Do they want to see how bad the economy can get in the Gulf States? Do they want to see how many fishermen and their families go hungry before they start raising money for them? I don't know, I just think it is a double standard. We give to help the world, but when we are hurting here in our own country people seem to turn a deaf ear to the problems. Just my two cents worth.

Inspiration...

Well, it has been a REALLY long time since my last post, now. However, two of my friends have inspired me to restart my Blogging.

Some things have changed since the last time I posted, but one has not, I still work at Walgreens. I am working there somewhat full time, but as stated almost two years ago, I don't get a steady 40 hours due to the economy. I don't know what it is going to take to revive this economy, but I do know that I myself do not have any faith in the current administration to bring our country out of this mess. But more on that later.

Due to the economy and my current job status, I am brainstorming to see what I can do to find a better career than what I have currently. I may be able to stay with Walgreens, but in order to do so, I will have to move into the Pharmacy, I think. However, I am keeping my options open.

Now, you may have read some of my previous posts and said to yourself, "Bill, what happened to finishing your Bachelor's and becoming a teacher?" Well, I had some health problems, and failed a few courses, got put on suspension, and was told I have to finish my pre-requisites at the Community College level before being readmitted for my University courses. Well, I can't afford to pay for my own courses, and I can't get financial aid anymore since I am neither considered a current University Student, or a Community College Student (I tried to qualify as a Community College Student, but can't do so since I already have my A.A.) So, I my education is indefinitely on hold.

Anyhow, I didn't intend on this being a gripe/whining session. However, I guess it turned into one didn't it?

Well, keep the faith my friends. I may be down, but don't ever count me out.
