Christmas or Easter...

I was on Facebook last night and noticed the following Status Message had been posted, and re-posted by 7 of my Facebook friends.

I am sick and tired of every year when CHRISTMAS comes around, there are people who want to take CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS. It might offend someone. Well how about all of the CHRISTIANS? What about offending us because you are taking our CHRIST out of CHRISTMAS!?!? CHRIST IS CHRISTMAS!!! If you aren't celebrating CHRIST then why are you celebrating? CHRISTMAS is about the birth of our SAVIOR! CHRISTMAS is one of a few holidays left that celebrate my CHRIST! Leave my holiday alone!!! And tell everyone MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holidays!
Repost if your not ashamed

That got me to thinking, and I immediately posted the following, as my Status Message:

I believe that Christmas is less important to Christianity than Easter or Passover. (Yes, Passover. Jesus was Jewish, afterall.) I think that too many people, and especially Christians think of Jesus as a baby in a Manger, instead of a powerful Incarnation of God Resurrected from the dead. It is the Blood that Christ shed on the Cross that redeems our sins, not the sleeping baby in a Manger.

Those posts, in turn, got me thinking that I want to start a new Blog, and expand on that idea.  For that matter, I think I need to start Blogging, again, and expand on many ideas that I come up with.  Facebook posts are nice, but I like to be able to expand on my ideas, so people don't have to ask so many questions, and get the wrong impressions.

So, back to the original idea.

I like Christmas just as much as the next guy.  I also understand why some Christians get frustrated by the commercialism, and secularism of Christmas.  However, I find it odd that there don't seem to be as many Christians getting upset about the commercialism and secularism of Easter.  My point is that, as I stated in my Facebook Status, Jesus Redemptive Power doesn't come to us in the form of that baby in a Manger.  His Power is given to us in the form of His shed Blood at Calvary.  So, why do so many Christians get upset when someone says, "Happy Holidays.", but they don't seem to mind that the Easter bunny is more prevalent than the Cross?

Hmmm, I may have to further expand on this at a later date.  I will have over a month to do this, and still keep it timely.  Right?

Anyhow, thanks for reading, and let me know what you think.
