Spring has sprung in Little Rhody...

Spring has arrived here in Little Rhody.  I am loving my new home more and more with the passing days.  As a matter of fact, I am getting so acclimated to life in Rhode Island that you probably won't even see me referencing it as my "new" home much anymore, since I am starting to feel like I have been here forever, even though I sometimes marvel at the fact that I am here at all.  (Thank you Jenn for having me be a part of your life, and thereby introducing me to the beautiful state of Rhode Island.  Although, I sometimes call it Rhode-achusetts, since it seems that we do almost as much stuff in nearby Massachusetts, as we do in Rhode Island.)

I have used this move to Rhode Island as an opportunity to start fresh with my life.  Yes, I still incorporate many of the things I love in this "new" life, but I have renewed my commitment to leading a healthier, happier life with my Fiancee, Jenn.  We both joined Weight Watchers, and the gym.  And I have renewed my commitment to running.  I look forward to doing my first 5K in Rhode Island on my 43rd birthday, May 5th, the Cox Providence Rhode Races 5K.  I took that weekend off from work so I can fully immerse myself in the experience.  I will attend the Health/Running Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI on Friday May 4th, run in the 5K on Saturday May 5th, and then Jenn and I are volunteering with the Marathon on Sunday May 6th.  I am really looking forward to it, since I have only been involved with one other Marathon, the Walt Disney World Marathon in 1995, and that one didn't have a Health Expo, or at least I didn't know about it.

Another new experience that I will be doing in the next few weeks is attending my first Pawtucket Red Sox baseball game on April 24th.  Jenn got us tickets for the PawSox game a few days ago, and I am really excited to see my first Minor League game in Rhode Island.  Actually, it is the first Triple A game I have ever been to, since I never did make it to a Clearwater Threshers (Philadelphia Phillies Triple A team in Clearwater, FL.) while I lived in Florida.  Strange, since I went to two Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training games, and a Tampa Bay Rays game while I lived there.  I always intended on making it to a Minor League game, since there are more than a dozen MLB teams that have Triple A teams in the Central Florida area, but I just figured, as with many things, that I was always going to live in Florida and therefore had plenty of time to see things.  Anyhow, getting back to my original thought, I am excited about going to a PawSox game with my Sweetie.

Jenn, and I have also started attending church every Sunday.  We found a wonderful church in Smithfield, RI called New Life Worship Center.  So far we have really enjoyed the services, and each week it seems like the Pastor, or Special Guest Speaker, is talking directly to us.  Jenn is constantly saying, "Pastor Steve told us to trust God for that."  She wants to start going to the Bi-weekly Life Groups, too.

Ok, this blog was more informal than some that I have written in the past.  However, it is my blog, and this is how it flowed this time around.

Until next time.  Enjoy yourself, and When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade.
